CELEBRATING VALENTINE’S DAY THROUGH COMMUNITY SERVICE
15-Feb-2012
At 10:30 AM , Valentine’s Day, 2012, the staff of Premiere Career College began the College’s celebration by inviting all the students to join the Valentine’s Day Card Making contest. Each participant had a chance to spin the Premiere Valentine Roulette and win a prize.
By the end of the day, there were more than enough excellently made cards to take to the patients of El Encanto Rehabilitation Center, in the City of Industry, one of Premiere’s partners in community service in San Gabriel Valley.

The winner of the contest is Ms. Annabelle Villanueva, a mother of three, who has been working for years at the Loma Linda Hospital, but finally decided to take the Hospital Central Service Technician program at Premiere to be able to graduate and become a certified HCST so that she may apply for better positions and promotions at the Loma Linda Hospital. She informed Premiere that it was actually her supervisor at Loma Linda who suggested that she take the HCST program at Premiere because of the great reputation of the College through the knowledge, skills, and professionalism of its HCST graduates.
The Premiere students were also given individual heart shaped boxes filled with Valentine chocolates to give to their loved ones or enjoy themselves, a Valentine’s gift from Dr. Fe Ludovico-Aragon, the Executive Director and President of Premiere.
Later in the day Dr. Ramon Sison Geluz, the Administrative and Educational Director, together with Ms. Zenaida Plata, the Assistant Director of Nursing, and Mr. Edwin Gabriel, Accounting and Marketing officer, met with Ms. Sheryl Williams, RN, the Director of Patient Services at El Encanto Rehabilitation Center, a long term skilled nursing care facility, to turn over the beautiful Valentine Cards made by the Premiere students and Valentine chocolates from Dr. Fe Ludovico-Aragon, to bring cheer to the staff and patients of El Encanto. At Premiere, Valentine’s Day turned out to be another service learning experience for the students.
